First BAS event I volunteered for. Took place Sat. 2.16.08 at Valkaria Airport. The sun was out all day, thank goodness. The weather was clear with light breeze and temps during the day were in the high 80's; then cooled into mid 70's during the night. Overall great weather conditions. Plane demonstrations and a rocket-car demo were the highlights besides our scopes. We saw some Sun "prominences" during daylight and Saturn, Mars, the Moon, and the Orion nebula during the night. We had roughly 615 people peer through our scopes.Thank you to Chris for coming out and getting some good shots for us. More pics after the jump.
Tell us your thoughts on the VAF!
